80 YEARS
1945 - 2025
Victory in Europe and Japan prevail
The enemy proved too weak and fail
Survivors could now go home
To families they had left alone.
Sniper rifles were once the fare
Now deadly drones fill the air,
And targets fall amid the raids
Ultimate sacrifices often paid.
No matter where conflicts rear
Cries of pain are what you hear,
Then silence, no longer any sound
As troops fight to hold their ground.
Remember those who fought and gave
Some never in a homeland grave
For all the souls now laid bare,
A Poppy worn shows you care.

Dedicated to all who served, and their families.
