HISTORY REPEATS
Dunkirk, Dieppe and Passchendaele
All battles won but still we fail
To keep the peace that they fought for
Countries, always on the brink of war.
More weapons now under construction,
A global threat of mass destruction
Of fragile peace we hold dear,
A generation lives in fear.
How many times will man decide
Above all else to put their pride
Before valuing a person's life
Conflict reigns amid the strife.
Veterans gave their heart and soul,
Years later now it takes a toll
On the number still alive today,
So honour what they had to pay.
Be proud of those who long have passed,
Who hoped that peace would ever last,
Who never imagined war again,
Poppies a tribute to those brave men.

Dedicated to all who served, and their families.
