Poppies for All
Proud soldiers on the field lay
Not World Wars, but here today,
Fighting unknown terror.
The past should have taught us well
That weapons fired bring only Hell,
And there are no winners.
Young lives cut short, no more to be
A nation helped and set free,
By those who think it's right.
Desert heat and blinding sand
Ruined structures on the land,
A country devastated.
Remember World Wars One and Two
But also think of those who do,
The battles today.
We thank all Veterans for their choice,
And perhaps one day we will rejoice,
The world at peace.
